 Hunter Cemetery

"Among the oldest of the counties pioneer cemeteries"
A Hunter family cemetery…
John & William Hunter both fought in the Black Hawk War with Gen Whiteside

On a recent trip (June 2002 to hunter cemetery I found that the stones are in very poor condition. They are coated with a black soot like material.
Many are newly broken. Someone has put up new iron posts preventing one from driving as close to the stones in the past.
